RBC2016 will be held at the former Ospedale Militare (http://rtmliving.com/trieste/en/index.php), a historical and recently refurbished residential/congress centre of the University of Trieste with congress facilities, in downtown Trieste, Italy.

Besides providing facilities  for lectures and poster presentations, meeting rooms and space for coffee breaks, brunches and company representatives, the structure also offers modern accommodation organized in single and double rooms, for hosting all the participants.

The Military Hospital was built in 1863,  when Trieste was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, in an area of the city which at that time was on the outskirts of the city. For over a century, the imposing building housed 600 beds and offered treatment and refuge to soldiers.

In the late 1980s the Hospital was closed and passed a long period of neglect and deterioration, until a new beginning in 2006 when restoration and renovation work commenced.

A long and careful recovery process, started by the University of Trieste and supported by local institutions, has today resulted  in its  metamorphosis to a modern and innovative residential facility, without losing any of its charm or historical relevance.
